Boyce Avenue

well, i just know about this band from my friend ALbert. first he send me the youtube link. and i try to heard and, wow, his sounds is cool.

and i go to their myspace.com and try to listen to their songs. and it sounds cool. i like it. Lol....

well, just giving a brief introduction about this band

Boyce Avenue, a Florida-based band popular for its strong acoustic roots and constant drive toward a melody- and harmony-driven rock sound, consists of the three brothers Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel, and Stephen Hatker. The band first came together in 2000, when Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, piano) and Fabian (guitar, vocals), then 14 and 16 years old, respectively, started playing guitar. Within 3 months, Alejandro and Fabian took to the stage with their older brother Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals), then 20 years old, to perform before an audience of over 350 at a Pine View High School show. This would be the first of many public performances for the band at the school where its members had all been students together throughout their childhoods.

Focused on the completion of a debut album, Boyce Avenue took a hiatus from its public performance schedule to write, produce, and record additional singles. In July of 2007, the band returned to Atlanta, Georgia, this time to record three songs at the Electron Gardens Studio in the historic Biltmore Hotel. These songs were engineered by Gary Pfaff and Tim Delaney, and were produced by Boyce Avenue. In October of the same year, the band finished tracking for the debut album with the recording of two songs at RMP Studios in Orlando, Florida, with the assistance of friend Stephen Hatker on drums. The final three songs for the album, "Dare To Believe," "On My Way," and "Hear Me Now (piano acoustic)" were engineered at RMP Studios by Veit Renn (Jennifer Hudson) and Adam Barber (Creed, Shinedown, Alterbridge), and were produced by Boyce Avenue. Within a few months of this time, Stephen Hatker, formally joined Boyce Avenue as its full-time drummer, and the band relocated to Sarasota, Florida.

The debut album, titled “All You’re Meant To Be,” was released by Boyce Avenue on March 25, 2008. All of the songs were mixed by Austin Deptula (Eisley, New Found Glory), and the entire project was mastered by Rodney Mills (Pearl Jam, REM, Sheryl Crow).

A'ight, you can listen to their songs HERE and you must have same thought with me. Their songs will rock you on....

Farewell party

well, today i feel "life-full". after exam, me and my other friends (alfred, natalia, widya, silvana, shinta and tia) went to murni SS2 having dinner. we order alot of foods.

okay, this is my 1st introduction about the meals there.

this is mango special. this one is the most famous beverage there. this mango juice is mix with longan, watermelon, honeydew, and nata de coco. but the friuts was not blended. there have any other choices, watermelon special, ribena special, apple special, lychee special, and so on.

the next menu is roti hawaiian. this roti have sausage inside, meat, egg, pineapple, and others. serve with mayonaise on top, curry sauce, chili sauce, and 1 more i have no idea what sauce is that. but i like it. haha..... this one also the special menu there. you can try it.

next menu is king noodle. but they call it "mie raja". it taste like hokkian noodle in my hometown (medan). but, this one is nice. the size is damn big. for this noodle, we share for 6 people. hahaha... don't imagine about how big is it, but we order lots menu so we can share each other. haha.... but, this one is nice.

this one is the new menu (as what the staff said so). this is called dragon ...... *i've been forgotten what is the full name of this food. but, it taste very very nice. inside, there have meats, egg, chicken ham, and others, serving with tomato sauce on the top. well, it looks very nice from the display, but it damn nice inside. hahaha... try it.

we still have other food ordered, but i forgot to take picture on it. haha.... the othe menu is chili kong keng fried rice, meletup fried rice (nasi goreng meletup), and soft shell crab fried rice.

after finishing our dinner, we all continued our journey to coco banana, 1 of the club in sunway pyramid. here, all the craziness, stupidity, and all confession are spreading all over the club. hahahaha.... even, we there are some people wanted to make friends with us. hahaha...

well, nothing to do much. we all just drinks and dancing. even though in the middle, i feel tipsy and slept for about 35 minutes, then continue to dance like crazy people. not just me, silvana and shinta also join my tipsy moment.

next, after club, we all went to RSB (restaurant sri bidara) to have some supper. haha... then, here, i wrote this blog.

ou yeah, this party is also our farewell party with silvana, because she'll going to Australia to continue her study there. and so do i, i will graduate soon. so, i think this is our last club. and also, tomorrow, shinta and natalia will go back to Indonesia for holiday.

i will gonna miss u all buddies.

Portrait Photography: Increasing ISO for Sharp Results

this is an article by Ibarionex R. Perello

he is a writer and photographer who has over 15 years worth of experience in the photographic industry. For 6 years, he was the associate editor for Outdoor photographer, PC Photo, and Digital Photo Pro magazines. He was a technical engineer for Nikon Inc. for 8 years where he provided technical support and training on both film and digital technologies.

well, this is what he said:

"I always make it a point of noting my shutter speed as I begin to shoot. It’s as fundamental to me as focusing. I have had too many great images ruined because of camera motion resulting in a soft image. Though I make every effort to hold my camera as steady as possible, there is always a little vibration occurring. It’s not a problem with fast shutter speeds. But when the shutter speed drops below 1/60 second, especially in combination with the use of focal lengths of 80mm and higher, there is an increased risk of softness due to camera movement. Noting my shutter speed before exposing the first frame helps me take the steps needed to make sure my photographs turn out tack sharp.

Though increasing the ISO to 800 or even higher introduces more noise into the image, I prefer having a noisy image that is sharp, rather than a noiseless image that is soft. There is always something that I can do with the former, but not the latter.

Yet, even at this high ISO my camera delivered a very beautiful image. Though the light wasn’t abundant, there was a good quality to it, which helped make the image strong visually and technically.

Years before, I would have missed out on this shot, because I would have decided there wasn’t enough light. Now the ability to change ISO on the fly, has provided the means to make quality images virtually anywhere."

well, i learn something from what he said about ISO, because it is so me, and i will make useful of it. Bravo Perello...!!!

Frank Musik

i just found this article talking about FrankMusic.

FrankMusic the brainchild of 22 year British hipster Vincent Frank. Growing up in New Addington, an area in the London Borough of Croydon, he immersed himself in music, listening to late night house shows on Kiss FM, putting together mixtapes and creating music with his bedroom recording equipment.

He was particularly inspired by electronic and hip hop artists like Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Busta Rhymes who redefined the genre by extending its boundaries.

But Frank's goal is different. He wants to make great pop music with self-imposed limits. "I’ve found that the most important thing about creativity is limiting myself. Setting myself a brief," he says in a press release. "That’s the difference between pop and jazz, and I make pop music."

That's such a refreshing way to look at it. Even when the sonics are endlessly inventive and completely original, the basic of pop music remain unchanged and emphasize simple song structures and melodic hooks.

Frank has been keeping himself busy hanging with soundboard heavy-hitters like Stuart Price and Richard X, while remixing other artists and DJing at London clubs. Frank also started his own label to release an EP of tracks last year (that you can hear on his MySpace page). He’s also taken his bedroom stems into the studio with Mr. Price, the man that ofcourse co-produced Madonna’s "Confessions On A Dancefloor." Expect more from Frankmusik very soon.

Check out a guilt-free download of his B-side track "Done Done," a sweeping electro-ballad with a crispy string section that would make ELO jealous. If you just broke up with somebody (I hope not!), this song will tear you up.

Try to listen to his music here. just for trance lover. lol.....
