If you Travel on the Plane, Please Read This
Some passengers are just complain to the flight attendant about their unhappy treatment, not being able to fulfill their request and so on. Remember, the main task for Flight Attendant is to ensure your safety from the time you board the plane until you reach your destination. Don't treat them like your professional maids or personal assistance.
Have you ever wonder what flight attendant is secretly talking about you? Here are the list that crew won't tell you right in front of your face.
1. I'm not receptionist.
first of all, upon check in your baggage, you will definitely receive your boarding pass. If you know you are separated with your friends or your love ones, PLEASE immediately ask the check-in counter staff to change the seat for you. They know the allocated seats that can help you to solve your problem. it's too late to change seat once on board the aircraft. The crew will not able to help you especially it's a full flight.
2. I'm not your Porter!
it's not that i'm being lazy not to lift your bag to the overhead bin, but if you can bring it all the way to the aircraft, you can lifting it up to the compartment by yourself. PLEASE remember, Flight Attendant Rules AREN'T ALLOWED to lift passenger luggage into the overhead bin for you, though we can "assist" you. and please, if FULL, please close the compartment, don't wait for someone else (Me) to come along and close it for you.
3. Don't tell me all your problem!
Passengers are always coming up to me and dobbing each other. "can you tell him to put his seat up?", "Can you close the compartment for me?" oh please, i'm not your maid nor a teacher to scold the passenger in front of you.
4. Don't poke or grab me!
to be honest, no one like to be poked or grabbed, but even worse on the plane because you're sitting down and we are not, so it's usually in a very personal area. don't tell me you grab and poke a waiter in restaurant if you want a spoon or fork!
5. Do i look like walking stationary to you?
if you're travelling overseas, do yourself a favour and bring a pen for those immigration forms and note book for important message. i have few but please return it to me. don't just keep it after use, you are just none other that polite robber. it's just a pen.
6. Come well-equipped
we have limited stuff onboard the plane. if you travelling with your baby, bring nappies.
7. It's plan simple.
The lavatory door is not rocket science. Push it. and some passengers thought that the airplane door is toilet. Oh please.
8. Please Pay Attention
if you hear us paging for a doctor, or see us running around with medical kits or oxygen bottles, it's not the right time to ask for a coke or throw your filthy napkins.
9. Mind your child
if you're travelling with your small child and you keep hearing bells and disco lights on your seat, PLEASE see if your child playing with the flight attendant call button. we have a lot of things to do.
10. Can't you wait a moment?
Do you really have to go to the bathroom right now while we're wrestling a 100kilogram food cart down the aisle? we won't take hours just to serve the passenger in each cabin.
11. Does your mother teach you politeness?
When you ask a favour from the crew, please use the word "PLEASE" and end it with "THANK YOU".
12. It's Public place, Keep others in mind.
do not clip your toenails or do any type of personal business under a blanket!
13. Cleanliness please.
it's so obvious that is your dirty tissue, your vomits or even your baby poo poo in the nappies. can't you throw it in the lavatory by yourself? There's no cleaner or housekeeping team in the plane, so please do it by yourself. PLEASE... don't expect me to take your filthy stuff with my bare hands.
14. Please know what is called URGENT.
when the crew order you to keep your bags before take off or landing for twice or trice, PLEASE just do so like IMMEDIATELY. we have to take care of 300 other passengers, not just YOU. and please do not show face to them. they are doing their job. At the end of the day, They are the one who ensure YOUR SAFETY onboard. not YOUR BAGS company.

Orphanage Visit
I just came back from an Orphanage visit in Batam, Indonesia. Me and my other 13 friends visit EL Saddai Abigial Orphanage, which located around 45 minutes drive away from batam city centre. This was my very first visit to el saddai abigail, where some of my friends have been visited them for the 2nd, 3rd, ans 4th times.
After we reached batam ferry terminal, we had our breakfast at Bakmi French Bakery at Ruko komplex Nagoya Hill before we head to Nagoya Hill Shopping centre to buy some necessities for the orphanage and some games for the children there.
After we reached the orphanage, who Mr.Tanggang is the father of the children, i assess the condition of their house. There are 30 children in the orphanage, 4 of them are Mr.Tanggang own daughters and sons, with only 3 bedroom, 1 main hall (for visitors to sit and gather with the children), 1 kitchen and some toilets at the back of the house.
I can say that the conditions of the house is very sad and need extra care and attention. Heard that this el saddai abigail orphanage do not have regular donation to support them, in which one of the reason why my friend choose to visit this orphanage instead.
we sat down and the kids introduced themselves with their name, age, school, grade, and their dreams. It touched me so hard when i'm listening to some of their big dreams. Some of them wish to become a model, TV host, teacher, nurse, soccer player, and some of them have a dream as high as a pilot. They shows us, no matter how small you are, no matter what is your status, it's not wrong to have a big dream, which i definitely support them fully. Wishing them to have a proper educations so they can continue to achieve and a step closer to their dreams.
After introduction, we had lunch together. As we already prepared some mix rice lunchbox for each of the kids and includes 14 of us, which contains sambal kentang (spicy fried potato), ayam goreng (fried chicken), stir fried vegetables, rice, crackers and a banana. This lunch may be just a simple lunch to some people, but to them this may be the most delicious food.
After lunch together, we sing together, play some games with the children, and give each of them some gifts and presents. I personally prepare a simple toblerone chocolate bar for each of them, some of us prepare pencil case with pencils and pens for each of them. On top of that, for this trip, we manage to collect Rp.11,000,000 (approx SGD$1120) for el saddai abigail orphanage. Thanks to all my friends and colleagues who helps. A small token of donation will make a huge different to them, those who need it the most.
I will definitely visit them again someday soon, and hope i can help them more, build them a better living, better education and better life.

Good Words from Dad
Beautiful letter written by a father to his son. Must send to your children.
Following is a letter to his son from a renowned Hong Kong TV broadcaster cum Child Psychologist. The words are actually applicable to all of us, young or old, children or parents.! This applies to daughters too. All parents can use this in their teachings to their children.
Dear son ,
I am writing this to you because of 3 reasons.....
1. Life, fortune and mishaps are unpredictable, nobody knows how long he lives. Some words are better said early.
2. I am your father, and if I don't tell you these, no one else will.
3. What is written is my own personal bitter experiences that perhaps could save you a lot of unnecessary heartaches. Remember the following as you go through life .....
1. Do not bear grudge towards those who are not good to you. No one has the responsibility of treating you well, except your mother and I. To those who are good to you, you have to treasure it and be thankful, and ALSO you have to be cautious, because, everyone has a motive for every move. When a person is good to you, it does not mean he really likes you. You have to be careful, don't hastily regard him as a real friend.
2. No one is indispensable, nothing is in the world that you must possess. Once you understand this idea, it would be easier for you to go through life when people around you don't want you anymore, or when you lose what/who you love most.
3.Life is short. When you waste your life today, tomorrow you would find that life is leaving you. The earlier you treasure your life, the better you enjoy life.
4.Love is but a transient feeling, and this feeling would fade with time and with one's mood. If your so called loved one leaves you, be patient, time will wash away your aches and sadness.Don't over exaggerate the beauty and sweetness of love, and don't over exaggerate the sadness of falling out of love. BUT give a positive response to the one who has been waiting for.
5. A lot of successful people did not receive a good education, that does not mean that you can be successful by not studying hard! Whatever knowledge you gain is your weapon in life. One can go from rags to riches, but one has to start from some rags!
6. I do not expect you to financially support me when I am old, neither would I financially support your whole life. My responsibility as a supporter ends when you are grown up. After that, you decide whether you want to travel in a public transport or in your limousine, whether rich or poor.
7.You honour your words, but don't expect others to be so. You can be good to people, but don't expect people to be good to you. If you don't understand this, you would end up with unnecessary troubles.
8. I have bought lotteries for umpteen years, but I could never strike any prize. That shows if you want to be rich, you have to work hard! There is no free lunch .
9. No matter how much time I have with you, let's treasure the time we have together. We do not know if we would meet again in our next life.
Your Dad ...

Wedding Songs for Wedding Dance
I've reached the age where people around me are getting married, one by one. Until today, i become seasoned wedding attendee everywhere around the world. from Medan, Bali, Jakarta, Singapore, Malaysia, and Sydney. And even i become an emcee at my friend's wedding dinner before.
Realizing many couple pick the current trend songs for their 'Walk down the Aisle', 'Wedding Dance', and some for wedding champagne and reception dinner. However, from the song and the lyrics itself, i feel sometimes a little bit awkward as it doesn't have any meaning, or even some songs aren't wedding appropriate.
Here are the list of the songs that some of the couple had choose and sang by the guests, and i feel it's quite awkward in terms of lyrics;
1. Frozen - Let It Go
one thing is that, this song is a ear-catcher and very popular from children until adult. But then, the moment is not "Let It Go". enough said.
2. Bruno Mars - Marry You
the title may sounds like a modern wedding song, but however, the lyrics is killing. "and if we wake up and you wanna break up that's cool, No i won't blame you, it was fun girl." errr.... excuse me, it's wedding day, not break up period.
3. Taylor Swift - Love Story
it may be a Love story between Romeo and Juliet. but however, "and my daddy said stay away from Juliet, but you were everything to me, and i begging you please don't go and i said. Romeo save me, there're trying to tell me how to feel. This love is Difficult, but it's real. Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess." okay, i feel that this song is a love story that have parental objection. remember, a Wedding should be both party agree for it.
4. Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman - Something Stupid
i know i stand in line until you think you have the time to spend an evening with me. and if we go someplace to dance, i know there's a chance you won't be leaving with me. and afterwards we drop into a quite little place and have a drink or two. And then i go and spoils it all by saying something stupid like I Love You. From the lyrics itself shows that it's just a song that a guy Love the girl so much. it's romantic journey but it's not a LOVE SONG.
5. Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On
remember, this song is for Titanic incident about a woman missing her dead lover. that's why "Love was when i love you, one true time, i hold to. in my life we'll always go on."
6. Beyonce - Love On Top
This song is a woman that finally got the chance to be with the man she love. Finally doesn't mean you are the one. that might be the Man just broke up with another woman and he has no choice to be with the woman that loves him, as the lyrics said "Nothing's perfect, but it's worth it after fighting through my tears, and finally you put me first."
7. Westlife - All Or Nothing
This song proof that the girl struggle with 2 guys. Either He or Me. "Or are we just friend? is this how it ends with a simple telephone call? you leave me here with nothing at all." ouch....
all those songs above (that i can remember as for now) are totally wrong to me. so i would recommend some real love songs that you should use for your wedding or your future wedding song, which is more wedding-appropriate song to enjoy. sometimes, classic can be catchy as well.
1. Celine Dion - Because You Love Me
"For all those time you stood by me, for every dream you made come true, for all the love i found in you. i'll be forever thankful baby, you're the one who held me up, never let me fall, you're the one who saw me through, through it all. you give me faith cause you believe." is purely love and so romantic.
2. Shania Twain - From This Moment
"you and i will never be apart, my dream came true because of you. from this moment, as long as i live, i will love you and i promise you this." Lyrics speaks all you want and all you need.
3. John Legend - All Of Me
again, nothing wrong with this song. everything is so magical. "Cause all of me, loves all of you. Give your all to me, i'll give my all to you. you're my end and my beginning."
4. Richard Marx - New And Forever
This song is so deep "i lose my way but still you seems to understand. Now and forever i will be your man."
5. Michael Buble - Everything
there are so many wedding appropriate songs from Michael Buble. But i think, this Everything is the perfect song to me. it's upbeat and great lyrics. "and in this crazy life, and through these crazy times, it's you, you make me sing, you're every line, you're every word, you're everything." i will definitely pick this song as one of my wedding song repertoire.
6. Train - Marry Me
Enough said, Just watch the video and listen.
7. James Morrison - I Won't Let You Go
"if there's love just feel it, it there's life we'll see it. This is no time to be alone, if your sky is falling, just take my hand and hold it, you don't have to be alone, and i won't let you go." simply what's all woman loves to hear.
8. Sam Smith - Lay Me Down
can i lay by your side? next to you, and make sure you're alright, i'll take care of you..."
hope this will give you some idea in choosing a proper Love song for you wedding. Romantic songs might be a wedding-appropriate. so, choose carefully.

Socially Awkward to self awareness
I always feel amazed and at the same time, feel jealous of how a person can be so open in talking with others for hours without any awkward or silent moment. Ever since i went out from my hometown to a stranger country that i never step on it before, in order to improve and make myself engage and know more people, I always observe people surround me; of they way the speak, the way the communicate with each other, the way they talk, the way they behave, and the way the engage in a conversation. However, whenever i talk with my friends or even new people that i know, i always have this awkward feeling and awkward moment with them.
Based on some article that i gathered, this type of person is categorized under Socially Awkward Person. This is due to Lack of Knowledge and Not Understanding Social Norms. This type of people often find difficulties in picking up some topic of conversation with others, what to talk about and when, or what is it suited a joke and what it is not. This will obviously will lead to either weird or shy behaviour.
i always feel amazed with Caucasians people, particularly in Australia (As it is the only country that i went other than States or Europe). They can easily break the ice and create an immediate conversation with you. Many of them, they will always greet you with, "Hi there, How are you today?" or "Hi, How's it going?". as simple as just that casual talk, it can create a topic within two individuals.
People do suggest me to start reading more books, particularly in Positive Attitude and Self Development books. However, beyond this basic principles, everything else can only be learn through experience. that's why for myself, i always try to mix with people who are socially savvy, and learn from them indirectly. Make new friends, meet new people, make new conversation, experiment. Apart from friendship, i believe there's always some positive thing to pick up from them, and developing your social confidence.
with this, Self-Awareness plays apart. They say the first step is to admitting you have a problem, and that is the truth in every aspects of life, as simple as that. Self-awareness is about understanding your own needs, desires, failings, habits, and everything else that makes you tick. The more you know about yourself, the better you are at adapting life changes that suit your needs.
Essentially, by paying more attention to your own emotions and how you work, the better you will understand why you do the things you do. The more you know about your own habits, the easier it is to improve on those habits.
It is always easier to create negative conversation with your friends in order to talk more and longer. However, you have the choice to join in with the negative around them, or you can change to topic to a positive one. For example; instead of gossiping about your fellow friends or colleagues, why not share with them about their Good side of them and create a meaningful conversations about the people. By creating positive talk with others, subconsciously, it will also encourage the people around you to do the same.
And always remember, A good friends will not talk about their bad things behind their back.
Apart from gossip, we have to realized that we have our own problem as well. By sharing your own problem or your own happiness to the close one, you created one topic that people may aware and care more about you or even will join your happiness in the future, indirectly.
to conclude this, not many people have self-awareness in themselves, however, if you have open and trusting close friends with you, you can ask them for feedback about your personality, habits, needs, emotions, strength, weakness and values. Although they will not give you an accurate assessment, at least they play apart to build your own-self, and help you to be you. With this, by knowing your own values, who you are, and a vision of a person you want to become, you create self-development. And with this, you will motivate yourself more and manage your stress better, helps you with your intuitive decision making, and help you to lead and motivates others indirectly. Self-awareness is very useful.

Different between IQ and EQ?
IQ, also known as Intelligence Quotient, is a score or number derived from a standardized intelligence test. IQ scored are used as predictors of educational achievement, job performance, special needs, or even income. and 95% of the populations scores an IQ between 70 - 130.
EQ is a measure of a person's level of emotional intelligence. This refers to a person's ability to perceive, control, evaluate, and express emotions. Studies have shown that high EQ people have greater mental health, exemplary job performance, and more potent leadership skills.
As an individuals, our success and the success of the profession today depend on our ability to read other people's signals and react appropriately to them. Personally, i believe EQ is more important compared to IQ, although people with IQ is still recognized as an important element of success, particularly when it comes to academic achievement. "Your EQ is the level of your ability to understand other people, what motivates them and how to work cooperatively with them," says Howard Gardner, the influential Harvard theorist. Therefore, we must develop the mature Emotional Intelligence skills required to better understand, empathize and negotiate with other people - particularly as the economy has become more global.
i remember i did an IQ test back in my school day when i was around 15-16 years old. i can't exactly remember what is the score of my IQ test back then, but however, the scores predicted that i'm suitable for Civil Engineering.
However, i just did Emotional Intelligence Online Test, which presents a mix of self-report and situational questions related to various aspects of emotional intelligence. My results indicate an above average score on emotional intelligence. According to the result shown, people with a better than average score on Emotional Intelligence tend to be good at interpreting, understanding, and acting upon emotions. They are usually quite good at dealing with social or emotional conflicts, expressing their feelings, and dealing with emotional situations.
Salovey and Mayer proposed a model that identified four different factors of emotional intelligence:
- Perceiving Emotions - the ability to detect, perceive and decipher emotions in faces, pictures, voices, body language, and cultural artifacts.
- Using Emotions - the ability to think and cognitive activity, such as; solving problems. Emotions help prioritize what we pay attention and react to; we respond emotionally to things that garner our attention.
- Understanding Emotions - the emotions that we perceive can carry a wide variety of meanings. if someone is expressing angry emotions, the observer must interpret the cause of their anger and what it might mean. For example, if your boss is acting angry, it might mean that he is dissatisfied with your work; or it could be because he got a speeding ticket on his way to office, or that he's been fighting with his wife.
- Managing Emotions - the ability to manage emotions effectively, responding appropriately, both in ourselves and in others. Therefore, the emotionally intelligent person can harness emotions, even negative ones, and manage them to achieve intended goals.
According to Akers and Porter, This 5 major categories of emotional intelligence skills are equally important:
- Self-awareness - the ability to recognize your own emotions and their effects, and sureness about your self-worth and capabilities.
- Self-regulation - the ability to control your self-experience emotions, such as anger, anxiety or even depression. this involves self-control, trustworthiness, conscientiousness (Taking responsibility for your own performance), adaptability, and innovation.
- Motivation - to motivate yourself for any achievement requires clear goals and a positive attitude. Motivation is made up of; Achievement drive, commitment, initiative, and optimism.
- Empathy - the ability to recognize how people feel is more important to success in your life career. An Empathetic person excels at: Service orientation (anticipating, recognizing and meeting clients' needs), leveraging diversity, political awareness and understanding others.
- Social Skills - includes; communication, influence, leadership, problem solving, building bonds, collaboration and cooperation, team player.
However, it's important to remember that no matter how good your score is, there's always room to improve your emotional intelligence. consider areas where you are not as strong and think of ways that you can learn and grow. take stock of your strong points and find ways to continue to develop and apply these skills.
